❝ I wish that I could explain what love is or what it feels like in one paragraph. I think if anyone could do that, the world would finally make sense to so many people. However, to me, love is absolutely everything. It’s the smile when I wake up, the tea I drink for breakfast, the “Good Morning Beautiful” text messages, the inside jokes, the late night conversations, and the smile when I fall asleep. Love is openness with no inhibition. It’s trusting without fault, knowing without worry, and loving without doubt. It’s knowing all their horrors from their youth, their favourite song, the way they look when they have the flu, their reaction to failure and to success, their bedtime, and why they hate wearing their glasses so much. Love is the way you add a “U” to favourite because it’s the “right way to spell it”. It’s true acceptance and the knowledge that forever is possible. It’s hard work but worth every moment. Love is when you lie next to each other and can feel your hearts beat together. Love is every love song, every lyric that defines your relationship, every movie with a happy ending. True love is a story that’s always been told but never understood. It’s indescribable. It comes from a depth within that never existed before. It gives every mistake a purpose and every failure a reason. Love isn’t easy but it isn’t difficult. It’s allowing another person to become such an intricate part of you that there’s no hiding, holding back, or pushing away. Love is simply the most calming feeling I’ve ever felt. Without love…. Without her, I wouldn’t be me. ❞
